The old "double standard" goes back a long long way.
It even exists in the animal kingdom.
Looking at it from THAT viewpoint, it makes sense.
Sperm is cheap and plentiful.
Eggs are expensive and few. It also takes a LONG time for the female of the species to carry the developing fetus. It is important for survival that the female chooses an appropriate mate for good genes, adequate provisions, and protection during pregnancy.
Fare or not, it falls to the female of the species to shoulder that responsibility of making correct choices of a good mate.
For us humans in today's world, those demands are changing, but society tends to follow tradition.

I think you should listen to Philip H. on this subject. A recent study has shown that men prefer youth, beauty and variety of partners, while women are choosier. These things hold despite what people say about themselves. There are strong evolutionary reasons for this behavior and it is well supported, even though methods may change, by the proximate behavior of people. You need to ask these type questions of scientists, as people here are ideologically incoherent and confused about these things.

That's one of the double standards of men. There are at least twice as many double standards held by women as men.

You are now allowed to sleep with as many men as possible and I will not call you any one of those names.
Go. Go. Go now, and find them men. Get started tonight.
And what Phillip H. stated.
