transmissions are gears and shafts

if you build the rite engine or get an electric motor to drive it you can spin it really fast with out damaging it

the problem is in the engine the valves need time to close

you spin it to quick they stay open
the lifters fall out or the pistons hit them

if you fix he valve problem there is a piston problem
they are being pushed /pulled really fast
they aren't designed for that
the pistons will break or the rods will bend

the fix racing pistons and rods Thain you can get 10000 RPMS out of it (the engine) the draw back you get 500 to 1000 miles on the engine and its time to throw it away

dragster cars get 10 races on an engine that's less Thain 3 miles on the engine but they go from 0 to 300 mph in 4 seconds

so to answer your question how long do you want to keep your car ?? don't red line it !!!!! 1 second is to long in most cases

RPMs won't generally kill a transmission, unless your dumping the clutch.
But the real questions should be how long can your engine last with the RPMs in the red zone?

The rev limiter kicked in (that replaced into component to the reason the motor vehicle began shaking). that's rather not undemanding to get the Mazda engine to coach sufficient RPM's to do harm. I even have suddenly met the limiter various circumstances on my plenty older Miata's and the engines are nonetheless working positive.

Keeping it in the red zone wont hurt the tranny. It will kill your engine though.
