I agree with you that Lincoln had a very hard presidency but he was able to force the Union together again. FDR would be next, he took over in a depression and lead us to victory in WWII. Jefferson would be the third, with his foresight in the Louisiana Purchase he was able to over double the US size and enable the country to grow in a great nation.
Worst Buchanan, he watch as the country head to civil war and did nothing. He decided to let his succor handle it, while his Secretary of War moved arms stockpiles to the south so they could arm themselves. Next would be Hoover, as the country slipped into depression he did nothing to stop it saying capitalism would correct itself. Finally Nixon, while he was a good at his job, the Watergate scandal shall forever black in his place in history.
As for both Clinton and the two Bush's it is to early to tell.

George Washington, for several reasons including the fact that he had the opportunity, through his own soldiers plotting a coup, to set himself up as King, but instead stopped the insurrection.
He was also the only prominent slaveholding Founding Father to emancipate his slaves - and provide for them in his will. Compared to those of his day, in a sickening time, he was admirable for this.
As for the worst, I have my suspicions, but these suspicions concern someone too recent for us to truly know the judgment of history, so I'll refrain.

I agree that JFK was a great president. I also agree that George W. Bush is the worst. But, the stakes are greater as time goes on. For all we know, John Adams would have cracked under the pressures of today's system.

I think the best President was Ronald Reagan. He was an outstanding, effective President with personal integrity and moral values. I admire him greatly and feel he made many tremendous changes to affect our world. He was an honorable, trustworthy, sincere and good man. I think that Bill Clinton was the worst President. He had no moral values, made many errors in judgement and did a great deal of damage to our Country. He was not trustworthy and sold us out to many of our enemies. He had no respect for our military personnel and I resent that. The way he turned his back on our troops who were attacked in Somalia was a crime. (one of many). I hope Hillary doesn't get in office so we end up with more of the same.
