He is currently in Australia and i decided to watch his press conference. I noticed what passion and conviction he has for all the decisions he has made. I do not agree with all of them but i now admire him as a leader and decision maker. I am by no means a Bush supporter but i have to say he really impressed me evn if we had to close down half of the city to accomodate him. What is your opinion of the man and can you distance the war from the man making the decisions etc.

It is hard to distance the man making the decisions and the war because we really do not know who is truly making the decisions. Sure, he has advisors and the such, but how much actual influence do these other men throw upon Bush? Cheney has played a substantial role in the events and decisions that have gone down in the last seven years.

Furthermore, since prior to Bush's "election victory," I felt that if he did win, we would somehow go into Iraq. Many challenged, asking "why"? But, I knew for some reason he had it in him to go. It has since been a long series of bad decisions one after the other after the other.

My opinion of the man is that he was not the best candidate for the position to begin with. His lack of knowledge, the way in which he speaks, the promises without delivery; the man does not come off as a logical, reasonable person. His choices have been poor. His speeches have been worse. Yet, what bothers me is the fact that some think he does speak well. Those are obviously the ones who voted for him. I think he stumbles across everything he does professionally. Personally, I really don't care what he does. But as President, well.....I just still don't know how people buy into his crap, his speeches, his logic, his decision making. And, as far as being a leader, I don't think he has any leadership value. Balls, I don't think he has, as some disagree. He makes quick decisions, and worse decisions to cover up the prior bad judgement.

To summarize,
1) I really don't like him (putting it very mildly).
2) I cannot distance the war from the man/men making the decisions. The decisions had been made. They were terrible.

I admire President Bush and always have. He is a man of conviction and has a backbone, both of which are missing on the left. This is not a popularity contest, he is the President of the United States and I think has done a good job as a leader, and should be admired as a man. Thank You

I bet 99.9% of all the people that post here (myself included) could not do the kind of job he does; he has been steadfast in his decisions and despite the maelstorm of criticism he has received in the last 7 years, he has remained true to his convictions.

That speakes volumes about him; I believed in him and i still do, he has made some mistakes, but he's been forthcoming in admiting his mistakes.

If he was to go for a third term as president, I'd whole-heartedly give him my vote for a third time.

First of all I don't agree with all he has said and done, but I truly believe he has done what he felt best at the time, and on the advice given to him by his advisers. With that said, how come no one has bothered to bash his advisers, and put them all down?

Do you honestly think that one man, one single person is running the show? Hardly, he is not Saddam, he is not Hitler, give me a break and show some respect. After all you still call yourselves Americans don't you?

As any other party - it appears to me as if every party has its good and bad, its cheaters and liars, so if you are going to say that, then no one is good, and no one has done a damn thing right!

I support Bush, I stand behind him and feel that all Americans should, you don't have to agree, but to turn away from our President is pretty Un-American to me.

Ready for the thumbs down.....

There is no need to distance him from the war on terrorism, he knows what he is doing. President Bush is one of the very few people among us who has friends, business and life experience in the Middle East; he understands this situation and knows what must be done. No disrespect intended, but all of our politicians put together would not have the life EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE of the Middle East that our commander in chief GB has acquired.

My opinion of him is that he wants to do a good job, and believes in values. However he really needed to be more open to different ideals, he said he wanted the Iraqi Army to stay together, but someone talked him out of it. That was the main problem of why we have the problems today.

I think he has been a disaster as a president, but I think he would probably make a very interesting dinner guest or on line chat buddy.

Like you, I had a very positive impression of him "in person" and my WAG is that I'd like him as a neighbor or a coworker.

Don't get the "dumb thing" -- he seems 10x as smart as Kerry (met) and 2x as smart as Gore (haven't met). I think it must be the "liberal media bias" that likes to paint R's as generically dumb (They did it to Reagan and Eisenhower...although not Nixon as I recall; I guess there they had "evil" ).

On the other hand, I get the pig-headed stubbornness thing -- he has put the country in an awfully weak position for the dumbest of reasons.

As President he has my respect but most of his decisions I have not been a fan. Personally unless the Democrats start actually saying something other than Bush stinks I will vote for a Republican President.

He talks with passion and from the heart. I think when I really discovered what kind of man George Bush was the first time I saw him look at Laura.
