I never ate the lead (it is actually carbon, lead would be toxic)
but I did have an accident when I was about 8 and had a piece of it stuck in the middle of my hand - it is still there today...

of course, but the problem came when you were in the innercity schools with lead and then went home to a house/apt painted with lead and that is on top of the lead tht you have ingested in your life time. well theres you problem.

nope...but I still chew on the eraser.FYI:the "lead" in pencils is actually graphite (a form of plastic),so it is not poisonous.

Yes,I did. It never seemed to hurt me either. I've wondered about that,with all the publicity about lead paint.
