Is there a way to clean new steel without making it rust?

It must be coated with something, or it Will rust. Anything that will keep oxygen away from the metal. Rust is simply oxidation, after all....

dont think so. When you clean steel, you are removing the oily residue or coating that actually keeps it from rusting.

Clean it with whatever you want - sandpaper will be best.

Then get some oil on there so it wont get rusted.

Coat it well
