Any more, Politicians are a job class, not a representative of the people anymore. It seems anymore that even when the majority of people do not want something that the Government does, and legally stop it, the Government just goes around it to do what they want anyways. It seems we need to stop Hiring politicans (yes it seems we hire them with our votes) and start finding people that are representavies of the people again.

Agreed.
I would guess that apathy/ignorance of the people started around 75 years ago, but more particularly in the past 30 years. Although, it would seem that this is changing and more people are getting fed up and longing for a return to what our Founding Fathers had envisioned.

It happened sometime around the railroading of Richard Nixon in my opinion. I will not say he was the best president we ever had; however, I will say he is the last one who kept the promises he made to those of us who supported him. Namely, to end the draft and go to an all volunteer military, and to get us out of Viet Nam. Since then every president has broken his main promises to his supporters.
