honestly, i have around a 3.0 gpa weighted, im in my junior year, looking to do better, i have tons of extracurriculars. havent taken my SAT yet, but i know that i wont do terrible. basically just an average student.

It will be tough -- but not impossible. The odds are against you.

You need to improve your grades and also need to do well on the SATs.

So far you're on the right path. You seem determine to get your grades up this year so keep up the good work! Since you're a junior now, I would recommend that you start taking your SAT/ACT now just in case you may want to take it over again you will have the option in doing so before submitting your application.

A tip that I would like to give you while working on your college application is to make a good personal statement. let the college admission office know something about you that makes you stand out from the crowd. Remember, colleges are looking for well-rounded students that are also talented & highly motivated.

There's really not enough information to answer that. Without knowing your SAT score, the number of AP classes you've taken, and your extra-curriculars.... it's really hard to say.

You seem to be on the right path, as long as your grades get a little better, and you do well on the SAT, you should have a very strong chance.

Just remember, the better you do this year, the higher your odds of getting into UCSC.
