What is the best comedy created that was produced before 1955? Black and white only, please :)

um, yes, everything was funny back then.
i need a pre-1955 movie for a classic movie night fest with my friends. I have to pick the comedy, and it has to be black and white flimed

one of the greatest TV Comedy shows with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz started in 1951.
In the Theater how about 1952's:
SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
Starring Gene Kelly it was both a Musical and a Comedy.

Arsneic & Old Lace, stariing Cary Grant is my favourite movie from that time, very funny situation comedy....does it have to BE in black and white, cause this movie is black and white but has a colored version.

Some Like it Hot. Jack Lemmon was awesome, Marilyn Monroe was also very funny!
It came out a few years after '55, but oh well...
