6x - 5y + 43 = 0
to solve for y, first get all y terms on one side of the equation and all other terms on the other side
6x + 43 = 5y
Now divide each side by 5
(6x + 43)/5 = y

5x/3 = 2y/9 +4
I'll assume the x and y are in the numerators
Since the common denominator of the fractions is 9, you want to multiply each term by 9.
9(5x/3) = 9(2y/9) + 9*4
15x = 2y + 36
Get the y alone
15x - 36 = 2y
Divide all terms by 2
15x/2 - 18 = y
OR (15x-36)/2 = y (same answer - some teachers prefer this)

11 - 4x >= 12
11 - 12 >= 4x
-1 >= 4x
-1/4 >= x

2x - 15 = 8
2x = 8 + 15
2x = 23
x = 23/2 = 11.5

I'm glad i'm not the only one having trouble with this garbage.
I have not been in school in 20 years and I'm in college now and they try to teach me that today in 10 minutes!
