how do you respond?
i mean they mean it like that's stupid, or that's messed up, but i think it's rude and insulting.
and pretty much doesn't make sense either.

I used to say that, but then I realized that it's wrong. My school takes it very seriously, so we aren't allowed to say "That's so gay" there.

I totally agree. I don't know how someTHING can be gay. For example:
Person A: That tee shirt is gay.
Person B: Yeah I know, it's totally gay.
How can a tee shirt be gay?! I am not sure, why can't people just say something's stupid, rather than saying it's gay cause that doesn't make any sense whatsoever! I agree w/ you.

I don't get how inanimate objects can be gay, but not people.
