You have a good reason to go to the teacher and ask for help catching up. Physics takes work. Don't fall behind.

Take advantage of Yahoo and post the problems that give you trouble. Ask for explanations, not just answers. I've seen good explanations here.

Keep my yahoo name -- if you send me a question I'll try my best.

I'm assuming this is just basic mechanics? the first chapters are pretty much the base of everything you will learn in physics - you will always need to know formulas like d= vt - 1/2 vt^2 ( I think that's how it goes, but you get the idea) and others.

I suggest you get some help from your teacher as soon as possible, you will NOT do well if you don't understand this stuff

Study. Ask your teacher to explain things you do not understand.
For difficult problems, which you cannot solve on your own, use YA help. However, try to understand the solutions completely (you should be able to explain it to your friends). If you just use YA for your homework solutions without full understanding, you will be cheating yourself from opportunity to learn new things.

gosh thats tough!
well the first thing i would do is go to ratemyproffessors.com and check on ur instructor..that should tell u if its going to get easy or tough! Then i would go and talk to the prof (exactly the stuff u told us) and ask her wat u can do..maybe she will let u know about extra help (SI sessions or tutoring sessions) besides that...try and read the chapters before they are taught and see if that help... good luck! i really hope it works out for u!

Physics is applied math. Understand the math and you will understand the physics.
