When I brought my computer up today there was no sound. I checked to see if real player is installed. it is. I checked vol control. All Ok no Mutes Ran it with Launchcast and also tried to listen to some radio stations on air. Got nmothing. I do get static from speakers so I know they are on. ASignal just not getting to them.

if there isn't any other sound from the computer (like mouse clicks or eror sounds) then you might have to reinstall your audio drivers. check the obvious (volume, muting)

If no one touched you pc. I would suggest you to do a system restore. start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore and pick a date that it was working. If does not solve the problem do the following:
go the device manager and look for a yellow mark , it there is one, reboot your pc or even shut down and pull the power cord off to reset it. restart your pc .and look at the device manager again and check for a yellow mark.
update the driver on the device manager
you can also look if there any driver update for your sound card.
make sure your speaker is connected right.
use a headphone to test if there is any sound.

I'd check the in-plug.
