Don't use too much detail. The slides should be talking points.

Keep the number of points per slide to somewhere between four and seven.

Your presentation needs a beginning, a middle and an ending.

You need to tell them everything three times.

1. In the beginning -- tell them what you are going to tell them
2. In the middle -- spell out the details of what you are telling them.
3. At the end, summarize & tell them what you told them.

Don't have a ton of words. Just the key points. Also have some color but nothing annoying. Never read from the powerpoint, again it should just be the main points and then you explain the detail. Make sure it will be readable for the whole class.

Definitely key points only. You shouldn't be reading your presentation from the powerpoints.
Make sure your presentation follows a logical thought process
Don't go crazy on effects
Don't use a complicated/obnoxious color palette.

do voice narration! you can record your voice over your slides, that way you can just look at it like a movie and you don't have to get up in front of the class. To do this get a computer mike and recording software and record what you want to say and then add it by going to insert>movies and sounds>sound from file. Then just browze, good luck
