Covenant = contract but much more than that.

The word comes from a Hebrew word meaning "cutting" and means something like an agreement signed in blood binding on both parties.

The "big 10" signify a great way to live, loving God and loving others. The Hebrews were blessed to have their God reveal Himself to them. These laws formed the basis of a perfect society. It would be great if the whole world followed these 10 today.

The problem is the "I'm worth it" generation is filled with the one commandment that seems persuasive today that is "love me because I do and I am important".
