When it is backwards it is 21 12 21.
Dont say it is the same thing that happened on 2000.
This is the last prediction and is not just made up like the 2000 one.

This prediction was made by the Mayans as an end of a civilization. Notice they did n'ot say which civilization. It could have been theirs, ants, a species of bacteria. Maybe AIDS?! How great would that be?

The 2000 "one" was a prediction based on possible problems that could occur as a result of computer programming and mathematics.

The 2012 one is a prediction based on the Mayan calendar completing its thirteenth b'ak'tun cycle since the calendar's mythical starting point (equivalent to 3114 BC August 11 in our calendar). The Long Count b'ak'tun date of this starting point (13.0.0.0.0) is repeated, for the first time in a span of approximately 5,125 solar years. The significance of this period-ending to the pre-Columbian Maya themselves is unclear, and there is an incomplete inscription that records this date. It is conjectured that this may represent in the Maya belief system a transition from the current Creation world into the next.

So what will happen:
- winter equinox
- possible snow flurries
- a lot of Christmas shopping since its the last Friday before Christmas
- a lot of things could happen, no way to know today

dude who cares? i mean really, your gonna die eventually...this stuff use to have me so scared a couple of years ago. i thought an asteroid was gonna destroy the planet. but after doing some research, i found out that there is a very small chance of that happening. same thing can be said for the 12/21/12 thing. i mean, you could be in a car wreck and die the same exact day.

On the contrary, it is made up. Just exactly like the Y2K one.

The Mayan calendar runs out of numbers on that date. That's all. Since you're not Mayan and you've never used the Mayan calendar, you're unlikely to be affected by this.

The world is not going to end anytime soon. You will have to keep going to work everyday and work for a living just like everyone else.

The Mayans believe that the world as we know it will change drastically and we will enter a time of transition. Usually there is global upheaval.
