This sounds crazy but it will make a sore throat fill so much better. Mix you favorite flavor of jello and mix as directed. Drink this while it is warm. Or reheat if needed. The jello is a little thick and seems to coat the throat for a bit and the warmth is soothing.

Aspirin works very quickly to ease the pain. he trick is not to just swallow then where they are absorbed b the stomach. You want to disolve one aspirin every 2 hours or 2 every 4 hours is a spoon with a few drops of water and slowly swallow the mixture so that it is absorbed by the mucus membrane of the throat, not the stomach. If you add a little sugar to the mixture it actuall tastes good. Make sure to take it slowly for best results.

Try gargling w/ warm salt water. I also suck on Vitamin C tablets (500mg) whenever my throat is sore, but as I've not had my tonsils out due to surgery, I'm not going to guarantee you this method will work for you. I does help me, however. Sucrets do absolutely nothing for me, and Chloraseptic tastes exactly that, septic.

When I had a sore throat, I would always have hot tea with honey. Now, that I'm vegan, I don't use honey. You could try hot tea with agave nectar or brown rice syrup. Both are soothing.
Ricola Lemon Mint cough drops are also very good.
