The Simpsons.
Family Guy just either rips off the Simpsons, or has jokes that have NOTHING to do with the plot.
South Park is funny, but a little too preachy at times.

South Park
Despite all the times they've been harshly critized by the conservitive mothers who don't want their children to ever have a bad thought in their pretty little heads, the show continues to have repeated success in areas that seem nearly impossible. Case and point, they are the only one of the three to win a Peabody award. This award is the Nobel Prize of articulate and brilliance in the field of journalisim, writing, television, and movies. It is the award that writers and newsmen are most proud of. Just ask Stephen Colbert and the Daily Show.
Also, the Oscars, despite what Phil Collins did for whatever movie he did, South Park easily showed that they developed the greatest original song for a motion picture. They were only allowed to get their third best song as a nominee and it blew everyone elses' away.
Finally, we get to the fact that this show is able to push the bondires of what is allowable on television and is able to do so more swiftly than the other two, since "Family Guy" and the "Simpsons" both send their storyboards to China to deveolp and color, before sending them back. South Park does it all in house. Remember after the 2000 election they spoofed the absurdidy just a day or two after the elections took place, this never could have happened in "the Simpsons" or "Family Guy". Plus, I also laugh harder at this show than any other adult cartoon.

THE SIMPSONS ALL THE WAY! family guy is also pretty funny but the simpsons are awesome!

The Simpsons - though quality has dropped a bit, when it is one with its satire and wit, it is definitely the best. And it doesn't resort (as often) the the crude and crass humor found so much in the others.
