920 sq ft. duplex. 2 bedroom 1 bath. there are two adults and 2 toddlers 1 baby and another baby on the way. One toddler is a girl and the other toddler and baby are boys.
Is this too many in such a small place? They are renting and they first signed the lease with only the two babies. Does the lease matter or could they get evicted for having so many people in their duplex?
This isn't me by the way!! It's a neighbor/friend kind of without a PC

I imagine with that number of children, the family is probably poor as church mice. That would be the only reason I'd pack 6 people into a 920 sq ft place. Of course, if this were New York, or Japan, it would be a spacious suite. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I recently rented a 3 bedroom duplex while waiting to buy my house and their rules were:

2 bedroom no more than 4 people
3 bedroom no more than 6 people
4 bedroom no more than 8 people
I don't know if that is just their rules or if it is a state law and if it is a state law if it varies state by state.

In a personal opinion, it is too many people. The duplex we were in was 1700 sq ft 3 bed 2 bath and just barely big enough for me, my husband, 10 1/2 yr old son, and 3 1/2 month old baby girl. I am so happy to be in our house!! Hope this helps. Good luck to your friend/neighbor.

I personally would think it is too many. There are laws in certain states that mandate this type of thing. How can they all fit? My husband I think we don't have enough room, and our house is three bedroom two bath and 1700 sq feet. We have two girls 9 and 6, and newborn 4 mos.

It is too many. I don't think social services would even allow that situation in our state. I can't imagine the toll that amount of people in that small a house is taking. We have a rental home about that size. We will only rent it to a couple or one person. We won't even allow 2 room mates because we feel it is too small.

I don't think they can get evicted...but that depends on the housing regulations in your area, check with the city or the county...but they most certainly might go insane with so many children in such a small space.

Good Luck!

i think its ok for know but once the kids get older they will need there own rooms some places say that from 7 years and older girls need to be in one room and boys in another but they are young still so for right know they should start saving money to get a bigger place in the future good luck to them my cousin lives in her mothers basement with only a large room and a bathroom they share a kitchen and she has two kids and they do just fine they all have there own beds to sleep in and during the day they play in grandmas house so its fine for them

I had a friend who had 6 children plus her mom living with them in a 2 bedroom. It was very small, but all they could afford. They made do until they could get better.
