My son lost almost two pounds and then gained it back.

It sounds normal to me...

Make sure that he goes to all his well baby appointments and ask the pediatrician what he thinks.

Yes. When a baby first comes out they are all swollen and puffy and generally full of fluids. Over a week, they lose all that. Then they gain weight again. If the baby seems like it lost a lot (more than say 1/2 pound) then calling the doctor would be wise.

its normal for babies to lose a little weight after birth, especially if the mommy is breastfeeding and the milk has yet to come in. Milk takes UP TO 4 days and then weight usually comes back on. Sometimes, there isnt enough milk so the dr will advise (after checking the baby for illness) supplimenting with formula also. If a baby loses too much weight, there is a possibility for hospitilization. SEE THE DR!

This is completely normal. According to the Academy of Pediatrics, "Most babies lose about one-tenth of their birthweight during the first five days, then regain it over the next five, so that by about day ten they usually are back to their original birthweight."

Sounds like baby is right on track, once he's regained his birthweight he'll probably start to grow super fast gaining approximately 2/3 ounce per day.

Yes, it's normal for a newborn's weight to fluctuate. Even for the rest of his life, his weight might fluctuate. I would be worried if he continuously loses and doesn't gain any back. If that happens, take him to the doctor to be on the safe side.

Yes, it is normal. My daughter weighed in at 8lbs 10oz, and lost a whole pound the next day. The dr. said it was water.

Baby nice and healthy. She's 21 now.

Yes it is. Newborn babies have tendensies to lose a little of their birth weight after they are born. Don't be concerned unless the baby continues to lose weight, then have mother take baby to doctor.
