Every woman is different, but generally it will go in this order...

Dry--you can still be moist for it to be considered "dry". Dry just means no cervical fluid (also called cervical mucus or cm), there are other things that keep everything moist.

Sticky- this would be a little tacky feeling. If you hold it between your fingers and hold your fingers apart it has no stretch at all and reacts something like half dry glue.

Creamy- This would be anything from an ointment type consistency to a very lotion like. Typically the more watery it gets, the closer to ovulation you are.

Watery- This would be like the consistency of skim milk. Some sources see this as a "fertile" cm, meaning sperm could live quite a while in it, while other sources consider the watery just a form of the creamy and not fertile.

Eggwhite- this is the most fertil kind and would be the consistency of raw eggwhites or watery rubber cement. If you hold in between your fingers it should feel wet, squishy and goopy. If you pull your fingers apart it should stretch. If you are on the toilet and it falls in the water, it should form a kind of ball and sink.

The time that each woman has for each kind is different and some women skip some steps altogether (it isnt uncommon for me to never have a dry stage. As you near your period, it should go in reverse order, though get to the sticky or dry phase much quicker.

Hope that helped
