I have a standard civic and recently it hasn't been starting. Usually when its left overnight it can't start in the morning. It turns over but doesn't start. If it does start when i give it gas it putters out and shuts off. Then it can't start again. Also there is a smell of fuel after it dies. I already changed the o2 sensors, engine coolant sensor, distibutor, distributor cap, spark plugs and wires. Also when im driving i will stay at a constant speed, but the car will sometimes jerk, like its not getting enough fuel or something. Let me know if you have answers. Thanks

its not the fuel filter i replaced it. No there are absolutely no codes. That is why it is impossible to find out what the problem is without replacing the part.

this has been going on for about a month halfway through the check engine light came on and when i had it checked it was both o2 sensors. I then replaced the o2 sensors and the engine light went away. But the problem of starting remains. It's starting to really piss me off

All that money and parts replacing for nothing. What kind of mechanics do we have out there?? None of the things you did had anything to do with the problem. The car starts and runs, that eliminates ignition problem. So why did we rebuild the ignition system? Apparently no one looked at the fuel injector system. Remember " there is the smell of fuel" check out the fuel system. NEVER replace a part till you know the problem. By the way are there any trouble codes ??

It may be dirty injectors, a bad fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter or fuel sock. Look into these. Not starting could be a small power drain. Make sure nothing is in the ciggerett lighter and lights aren't on.
