hi. This may sound stupid but is there any programs out there that will help you move? The main thing I want to know is about how much all I need. I know I need rent money and then the cost to move and such. Please help me and thanks!

You will have to do what anyone else who wants to move does ... plan for it, work, and save money. You may want to get a second job for a few months to help you save the money up.

I generally tell people planning on moving cold turkey (without a job waiting) to save up at least 6 months living expenses before moving, to give you time to find a job and get settled.

Depending on where in Oregon you are moving, you will need at least $800 a month to cover rent and utilities, $250+ a month for food, $100-300 a month for transportation, depending on whether you have your own car or are using public transportation. You may also need deposits for apt. and utilities. I would recommend having $7,500 saved up before moving.

You can save money on actual moving costs by moving only what you absolutely have to keep. Unless you have furniture and such that is hard to replace, or is brand new, I would purchase or get what you need from thrift stores or on freecycle, etc.

Before making the move, you may want to research online job opportunities in the area you want to move, as well as housing costs and other aspects.
