i connected an mp3 through a USB cord and everything was normal, then after about an hour and my screen says "Windows has failed to start" and it sais it's due to a recent hardware or software change. then a startup repair thing comes up saying that it can fix the problem, but it doesn't fix it when i launch it. I can't even log in to my computer, it also says that if i have connected a device, which i did, that i should disconnect it, which i also did, but it keeps saying the message even though nothing is connected. The device I connected was a 4GB RCA LYRA mp3 player. restarting doesnt do anything either. help me please please please

I suggest removing the mp3 player and then do a system restore to the first available date before you installed the player. You should start in safe mode by hitting F8 while starting and click safe mode. Then Start-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore. Pick date and follow instructions.
Hope it helps.
