I am sorry Cherry Pop Tart but sometimes women can very well stay sick there whole pregnancy just hope it stops or lets up there is medicine the ob can prescribe to help out if it gets to the unbearable point. I was sick the first 12 wks and could only eat taco bell the next 12...

Wait till towards the end save all the money up for the things you want to keep your self entertain at the end cause some women at 37 weeks are looking for something to pass the time with at the end.. Also you will get alot at a baby shower and then you should wait till you know what the baby is.. Thats what I did... Makes the last trimester go by faster..

It's VERY normal for morning sickness to last past 12 weeks. A lot of women are led to believe that it "stops" after the first trimester, but for many it continues although it gets slightly better and finally tapers off sometime in the 2nd trimester.

I know how you feel because with my first baby I couldn't understand why I was still sick after 12 weeks. My mother had said hers ended around that time and so did some of my friends, so that's what I expected.

It's best to keep an open mind about everything having to do with pregnancy. Every woman is different and each pregnancy can vary, too, if you have several babies.

In my experience, my morning sickness starts around 5 weeks and lasts until about 20 weeks, although it gets "a little better" after week 15 and tapers off gradually. It also makes NO difference as to sickness whether you are having a boy or girl. That's an old wives tale.

I start buying baby things in my 2nd trimester because I start finally feeling better and getting out of the house more. I count the walking around malls and shops as exercise!

The first few weeks into my second trimester I was even more sick then I had been in my first trimester. My first trimester I was so nauseated, but second trimester I was throwing up atleast once every other day. Then after the first couple of weeks in the second trimester, the sickness is like a rollercoaster. Some days I am perfectly fine other days I just want to sleep. As soon as I found out the gender the family started buying things for the baby, but I'm tring to wait for the babyshower to see whats left for me to buy. I think I'll cave in and end up buying things pretty soon. -

Some ppl stay sick for a long time and some get over it after a couple weeks. I was very sick until my 17th week and then moderately sick until my 27th weeks and fine until I hit my 34th weeks and started to get little bouts of naseau here and there.

You can start buying as early as you want, but of course lots of ppl wait until they pass their 1st trimester to start buying (because the risk of miscarriage goes down). Somewhere around where you are is a good time to either start buying or to start seriously looking around for what you need. I suggest doing a lot of research before you start buying. Just read a few things and ask a few ppl what is most useful. Like how many clothes you should get, blankets, safety items, what kind of stroller/carseat, what items to wait on, etc I started buying around 29wks but spent the prior month or two looking around at things I would like to get and what I would need to get... Pricing and stuff... I would have liked to start a little earlier becuase it seems we're getting little by little and I wold have liked to have pretty much everything we needed by now. I am 35 wks and don't have all I need still and when you get this far along you STRESS OUT about it. Plus, the earlier you know, the earlier you can tell others or register and the earlier you will get "gifts" or "help" for the baby. We had quite a few ppl tell us they wanted to get us stuff (family, mostly) and we registered 2 1/2 mos ago and only one person has bought something for us out of 7 that said they wanted to get us something. My due date is 4 weeks away... and when it gets this close, I can't say it enough, you will want to have nearly (if not all of it) ready for baby.

I am 17 weeks tomorrow and I finally got over the sickness about 3 weeks ago. There is no set time for it to end and I've heard of people who just never felt good throughout.

I actually just purchased my first item this past weekend, I am overly anxious but since I am insistant on either a blue or pink theme I am waiting till I find out the sex hopefully ~fingers crossed~ next Tuesday!

Good luck with the morning sickness it will get better soon :)

Though you are right most times it does stop, everyone is different. I had morning sickness all the way through my pregnancy with my first one. There is something you can do if you really can;t get it under control by eating small little meals through the day, about every two hours, instead of big ones, and diet change. You can talk to you doctor about diclectin. (dy-klek-tin) it is a small white pill you take every day and it will stop the mroning sickness so you can feel better.
But this is normal for some woman.

I was one of luckier ones... I never got sick. It shoud subside around your 2 trimester.. according to books and other women. Although some women get it throughout their whole pregnancy.
I started buying things when I was 28 weeks old like : bassinet, diaper genie, bathtub, shampoo, special detergent, grooming kit, blankets, things that you usually forget when you're buying all the big ticket items and clothing.
I'll start for the big ticket items when I know for sure what I'm having, which is in 16 more days :)
But you can start whenever you want, some women just get everything neutral. Good luck!

The first trimester goes until 14 weeks. I know some people that were sick well past that. I started buying things after my 20 week sonogram when I knew the gender.

Some (not all) will be sick into their second trimester, for me it tapered off around 14 weeks, then I felt great every time... don't push your luck by trying to eat things you know will be iffy, stick with the basics and small amounts. If it gets too bad get your doctor to help you with it.

Don't buy ANYTHING until after your baby shower!! :) Then see what else you need, it's fun shopping when you're huge, babies r us has an expectant mom parking spot, you get to use it once you're about to explode.! Best wishes, Suz and all 5 of my brood..

Normal- mine lasted all nine months. I hope yours goes away soon, most likely it will. I didn't start buying baby things until after I knew the sex (@ 20 weeks) but some people buy stuff the minute they know they are pregnant and still others wait until the baby is born. Just whatever works for you. Take care and feel better.
