In shurley it says that a singluar subject takes a singular verb.

The "question" and the "sentence" of yours not correct. The right word should be "grammatically" not grammerly. Also, ants "crawl" or "creep" not walk. Observe the ants on line crawling or creeping building an ant hill or going somewhere. Please be careful, spell the words correctly. Thank you.

The grammar is ok. The subject, ants, is third person plural as is the verb. The spelling leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Ants is the object of discussion
Walk is the verb relating to the object

Yes, you wouldn't say, "The ants walks up the hill" because "ants" refer to a whole group of ants, not just one ant.

well grammer is one thing but speling is something totally different...walk is spelled with one k just to let you know...
