I have to do a movie review and speech on a foregin film. Any suggestions for a good movie with subtitles?

Cinema Paradiso is my favorite. It is in Italian.
I also love Hero, In the Mood For Love, and 2046, all of which are in Chinese. And Ran which is in Japanese. Amelie is an excellent one in French, and Amores Perros in Spanish. Pan's Labyrinth was interesting as well, also in Spanish.

I would recommend Amelie.. Longterm Engagement, or The Green Butchers.. (first two are frenceh, third is Danish) another good one is Cinderella which was released by TartanAsia.. it's a great story, with some very interesting psychological under tones.. Rosenstrasse is very good as well.. (German movie about a woman finding out her families history during the holocaust)

If it's for school.. NOT Oldboy.. it is a very interesting movie, but not appropriate for a school assignmient..

I recommend you watch "Oldboy". Dont let the title decieve you. I found it very entertaining. A little bit of everthing in this movie. Action, comedy, romance, mystery and twists. Highly recommended. All the info on it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldboy
