Sea bands from a local drug store, lemonheads always helped me, ginerale, gingersnaps, ginger candy and if all else fails have your doctor prescribe some sort of anti nausea medication for you such as Reglan.
Good luck. Nausea sucks.

You have to eat no matter if it gets worse or not. Your doc even tell you that. If a small meal is eaten and thrown up later, at least you have gotten something and you should let your stomach settle about 30 minutes and eat something again. I know what it's like to be sick, I had Hyperemisis Gravidarum and was on my death bed (or so I thought) from 5-17weeks and still battle naseau until my 29th week. Now I'm 35 and it's coming back slightly.
Eat small amounts and eat plain things. If you have a craving, try it! What could it hurt. The last time you threw up won't be the last time you'll ever throw up. My body rejected water (wierd, I know) so I drank juice, but since it is so sugary I watered it down to about 1/2 juice and 1/2 water. Get an actual fruit juice so you can get a few vitamins and they water will help keep you hydrated. Some things that worked for me that seem to be easy on the stomach are:
Mashed potatoes
Sliced cheese (off the brick, not "fake" cheese)
Canteloupe (B Vitamins to help naseau and hydration)
Plain pancakes
Baby food (I had to resort to that after 1wk of not eating but it was actually yummy, banana is my fav)
Cream of wheat w/ a little sugar
Rice
Rice cakes
Cheerios
Strawberries
Macaroni and Cheese
Pasta (cheese chunks, pickle chunks, olive slices, cut up boilied egg, macaroni noodles with mustard and mayonnaise for moisture)
I always ate very small amounts every hour and only sipped on liquids in between feedings. It's a wierd science... Your body will probably respond best to a routine and a balance of keeping something in your stomach but not letting it get too full.
Try a few things out and what best suits your taste. I found that chicken noodle soup had way too much sodium (salt) and will most likely make you sick, tomatoes are really acidic and tuna made me sick as well. Some plain chicken may work if your stomach can handle it. Just plan on throwing up and eating again, but try to do what you can to ease the naseau and throw up less often.

Drink a bottle of ginger beer before you get up in the morning. Make sure it actually has ginger though! Don't buy any with artificial sweeteners and ginger "flavouring."
You do have to eat though. Try making smoothies, sometimes that will help it stay down. In first trimester your stomach produces less enzymes, which is why digestion feels like such hard work. You do need to eat. Just take it slowly. I think I existed on dry biscuits and veggie juice for about a fortnight, until I had a sudden panic that I would OD on vitamin A. My friend was having tuna and veggie smoothies. I personally think it sounds revolting, but you have to do whatever works :)

I'm 10 weeks and in the same boat. My doctor gave me a prescription for Zofran which helped at first, but not anymore. I was nevevr able to make the nausea better with the first pregnancy, I just had to wait until 12 weeks when it went away.

Crackers work best. Have them handy at all times! Stash some in your purse, desk drawer, night stand, car, anywhere! Ginger Ale works too, but careful, too much can make you really gassy! I guess there's no win win with early pregnancy! Eat smaller meals more frequently, I know the thought of eating just makes it seem worse, but you need it and so does the baby! Hang in there, it'll be over soon!

Eat several small meals and snacks instead of large ones. Avoid fatty/greasy foods and high acidic foods.
Ginger ale or ginger tea may help. If it gets to bad talk to your OB and he can give you medication to prevent the nausea from getting to bad. I was given promethezine since I couldn't keep anything down. Remember to take it before you get nausous since the pills can actually make that worse if it isn't in your system yet.

Arrowroot biscuits worked for me. Try eating a few before you get up in the morning. Dry toast may also do the trick. Personally, I would be wary of taking any drugs as I have seen the results of what Thalidomide did.
If all else fails, keep telling yourself "all things pass"
Hope you have a good pregnancy. Best of luck.

I had the same thing and on recommendation of my chemist (who was also pregnant at the time) I changed my pregnancy vitamens to Elevit. The morning sickness stopped almost completely within a couple of days. Worth a try, worked for me.

saltine crackers at the bedside...eat some before you get up in the morning. Also keep them handy at all times and eat small frequent meals to ward off the "icks".
Good Luck
