I am looking for a resin with the following properties:

1: transparent
2: can be dyed\infused with color
3: dries relatively quickly
4: can be built up in thick layers (1/2" thick or greater)
5: no bubbles.

Any ideas?

With all due respect a wider search in the WWW with keywords would be as useful.

Transparent is easy once you acquire the right substance and formulas.

Dye is likely as easy, in the formulations being condusive.

Poly is likely a longer dry time than epoxy or Fiberglass resin,,,though they might not strictly be CLEAR.

You state "Sculpture" which I do in Clay, but resins, are most effective when MOLDED, not sculpted. That might equate to having Molds to POUR into.

Building might also be an issue. Once set/cured there would likely be Obvious layering marks. What is most effective in molded resin based products is continuous pour/fill into the mold. If in fact you aren't layering one section of 1/2 inch onto another, there are no issues as to that thickness.

Bubbles: This might possibly be the greatest challenge. You can see it most obvious in a poly resin sphere perhaps where a bubble might be seen in the interior. The reason essentially is the AGITATION of the substance. I offer an analogy.

Varnish or clear coat with any substance, on a bar top, or piece of furniture. The bubbles and Might and often do; rise to the surface, when that happens, the surface has to be steel wooled to remove, then another coat must be applied.

A POLY resin needs no catalyst, whereas epoxy and Fiberglass resin does, so it can likely be poured direct, with minimal agitation in the process. Also it should be fresh, with no settling in the container. I have to say however the OOOPS factor should be considered always.

Without detail on your intent regarding the finished product, this might also be a trial and error/ R&D project.
