One of my buddies stayed at the palms with his wife, said it was really nice and not too expensive. Personally, I like the Luxor or Caesars's Palace, but those can get pricey.

Depends on what you like. Palms is good as a mid size casino. A lot of professional gamblers go there. But, if you like the mega casinos, try the Venetian, Caesar Place, and the Bellagio. Very nice and romantic but real pricey. Lots of things to do in addition to gambling. Perhaps, you can gamble and the hotel may comp some of the expenses. People say Wynn is good but I didn't like it.
Have fun

The question on where to stay in Las Vegas always has only one answer: www.CheapoVegas.com. The name may sound odd, but it is the only web site offering independent reviews of the hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. Not only independent, but right on the mark, and often humorous.

My first trip to vegas with my bf was at The Venetian and so far every other hotel that I've been to has not topped the luxury and beauty of that. I highly recommend the Venetian for the relaxed atmosphere, beautifully decorated suites, and also the romantic feeling of walking around in the Venezia shops with the gondolas going by.
I've stayed at other hotels such as Bellagio, Cesears Palace and they did not top the Venetian.

I think it depends on the type of couple you are. If you like the fast lane type of casino, then i'm all for the Palms. But if you want something a little more low key but classy then go to the Mirage.
Honest opinion is your only spend less than half your time in your room. I'd say go a little cheaper...motel 6 off the strip and spend your money on more productive things.

Paris. Beautiful surroundings, great pool, friendly staff, nice casino, reasonable rates, not many kids, close to everything, and not crazy busy like the Bellagio or Caesar's.
