Do you ever smell cups, glasses and silverware before you use them?

I do sometimes. If the silverware or glasses smell, it may because an old sponge may have been used to wash the item. Sometimes, your hands will smell badly if you've used the same sponge for a couple weeks.

Not me, but a friend does it. I am glad for him, because he will never drink something harmful to him. Once, he smelled something that looked like Coke, and we discovered it was some kind of ugly medicine.

Pretty bad he smells, we can't offer him alcohol without him noticing!

only at other peoples places and i usually wipe them out incase theres dust. and i always check to see if the plates have any food left on them and the silverware as well

All the time(well, just the cups) just to make sure it's clean and i also rinse them first before i use them.
