When you love someone, and I mean TRULY love someone, there should not be pain involved. I have heard this expression tossed around a lot. the "I love you so much it hurts". It should feel good to be in love or to love somone. Now, don't get me wrong, it does hurt to love another when the love is not reciprocated.

Yes. I love Rob, my sweetheart so much more every day and thinking of him is fantastic but it hurts at the same time. I think of him all the time and I can't wait to be with him forever... Well, for now I have to be happy to visit him in 3 days' time....

Nah, not since I was a teen.
That kind of romantic love is great, but it also sucks with teeth. Give me "mature" love any day.
I hate poetry but once came across a poem by John Donne that I thought was very apt:
Pains of Love
… be sweeter far
Than all other pleasures are.
