Given that General Petreus wants to keep his job and that the White House is going to publish the report how can we POSSIBLY believe one word of it? How could it be ANYTHING but a phony rosy picture of how things are in Iraq? How long can the administration be in total denial about what is really happening there, just so that they can put a positive PR spin on events?

We can't. The Verdict is already IN on Bush's policy in Iraq- & He's GUILTY of Incompetence & Stupidity. In 16 months the guy will become an "afterthought", & we can FINALLY start bringing our troops home.

I'll give it some credence because Petreus has been there. He's also the co-author of the new field manual on counter-insurgency operations. But, that's O.K. I'm sure that a lot of folks will pay rapt attention to a bunch of Washington-base media "experts" who don't know one word of Arabic, don't have a clue about the history of Iraq and have never stepped one foot inside that country. Talk about "spin". Whew!

You like to believe conspiracy theories about Sept 11, yet close your eyes to the progress with the surge. You liberals are truly strange creatures.
