I go to a used place downtown, it's always brimming with books. When there's something new I want, I wait until Christmas to ask for it or use Christmas money if I get any.

The library, if it's a rather common thing, but then otherwise I just buy the book since my reading interests are not all "common" and half the time the book is checked out at the library, and getting on reserve lists can be annoying.

i do both- mainly i use the library, especially for the kids books as he is only little so we tend to get alot of different ones out and read them once then take them back. Books for myself i tend to buy as i find if i get them from library i never finish them and then end up giving up and taking them back!
Other times i will buy from charity shops and discount stores but esoecially the kids books are SO expensive these days in most places that its easier and far cheaper to get good quality second hand or discounted than to buy new ones.
i found a gardening book in a charity shop the other day, reasonably new with an RRP of £20- i paid 20p... BARGAIN!!

Depends on the book. If it's new and I know the library won't have it I'll buy it. If it's old and I like the author particularly well I'll go to amazon and get the used for dirt cheap. If I just want to read a random book I'll check the library. I also find that ebooks has books really cheap.

I do both
usually I just buy the book I want but sometimes I want to check it out to see if I really want to buy it, also I can rent videos at the library go on-line or see material that I can not easily find to buy anywhere else. I have to admit I do get a lot of my books from yard sales...25 cents baby!

I belong to a paperback swap and that's where I get the majority these days.
Prior to that, unless it was an author I was completely sure of I'd get the book from the library first and then if I deemed it worth rereading I'd buy it.

Well, I like to own my books, so I do go to the library to purchase old books they are selling or a used book shop sometimes. I do share and swap with friends, but for the most part I purchase all of my books.

I never borrow books from libraries, they always want them back. I buy the books I want off Ebay - or Amazon.
I do buy books at the library, to sell on Ebay.

I go to the library if I want to read a lot of books for fun, but if I get a book that I really like, I ask my mom if I can buy it for myself since I know that I will read it again.

i always buy my books from asda, they are so cheap, then me and family just pass the books around. i must admit though that a lot of books i want are only available in bookstores, which are more pricey, but with charity shops they are bit short on new releases. i never use the library, i owe them a book from years ago when i was at college, and i like to read at my own pace.

Local Libary, Books are expensive to buy and I will probably only read them once anyways so why buy them?? When I do buy books I usually just look at thrift stores and yard sales, Much cheaper!! I also sometimes borrow books from my friends!! I guess it really depends on how bad I want the book and how much I plan on reading the book!!
