My husband had taken his car in for an inspection. We were told to put new tires on it and it would pass. We purchased new tires mounted and ballanced. The car still did not pass inspection. We had two sets of rims so we donated the car with the old rims and have the new tires with less than 50 miles on them. The nubs are still on them. They are 13in tires and we have not been able to sell them over the past few months. We do not have a car that it will fit on. We live in Rockland County NY and do not want to have to ship them to someone. Do you have any idea where I could sell these tires? They were only $200 to begin with and placeing an add in the newspaper is quite expensive in this area. To run an ad for 2 weeks is around $135 and we want to get about $150 for them or best offer. By placeing the ad we will only be getting $15 if we sell them at $150. Any help you can offer is greatly apreciated!!! Thank you in advance.

Don't you have weekly or bi-weekly low cost (or free) 'flea market' papers out there? I lived out south of Rochester for a couple years and there was at least one if not more.
$135 for a 2 week ad is outrageous-the local papers here charge way less than that for a 'classified' ad-and several 'weekly flea' or 'local shopper' ad papers put in all 'home' ads for free.
You could also try eBay-although I had no luck selling 5 sets of jeep tires and rims-as soon as I put a $20 ad in the local 'shopper' paper I sold them all in 3 weeks, from $50 to $100 per set! Make a visit to the local grocery store and see if they have the 'shopper' papers on racks in the entryway-usually that's where you find them.
Good luck!

Best place would be craigslist. I sell a lot of used parts on this site and only local people call. I avoid E- mails just don't answer them. Another place would be a swap meet, flee market, garage sale, or a tire shop. Only thing is that a place of Business will not want to give you too much. They need to make money too. Good luck
