Honestly, it is early but a baby has a great chance of survival at this point. The baby will probably have to be in the NICU for a few weeks. My second son was born at 32 weeks (7 months) and you wouldn't know it today. He has some development delays with his speech but that is it. I hope everything goes ok with her baby!

I'm pretty sure your teacher didn't tell you the day she found out. Most women would not do that because there is a high risk of miscarriage for the first 12 weeks. But, even if she did tell you the day she found out, she already would have been about 4 weeks along by then, and maybe even further. IF she really only has been pregnant for 7 months, the baby would be premature and would need a hospital stay. But I doubt this is the case.

Yes 7 months is too early. The baby's lungs have to have time to mature as well as the brain needs more time to function properly. They say usually at the end of the 8th month is better. I had all three of my kids between the 35-36 week.

No it should be okay as long as they are at a hospital with a good Neonatal Intesive Care Unit. I just saw a baby that was delivered at 5 months and is doing absolutely fine. They say that 32 weeks or more give the baby much better chances of not having any abnormalities.

She didn't find out the day she got pregnant, she could have been 1-2 months pregnant by the time she found out..which doesn't mean she was preggo only 7 months..only knew it that long. But yes having a baby at 7 months along has a lot of risks.

no...it happens...7 months on is usually past the point where it's very dangerous to have a baby. You can have your baby as early as 6 months and some sooner but it's very rare and the baby is in intensive care for a long time. But 7 months they are usually able to thrive w/ a few weeks in the hospital...

She may have been pregnant a month or two before she found out. So that would be nine months. If she had the baby at 7 months it would have been premature and kept in the hospital for a long time. If not, then she had a normal term pregnancy.

Most people find out they are pregnant between 4 to 6 weeks.
So add that to the seven months - that would make her 8 to 8 and 1/2 months. - that's good! Very few complications at that point.

Probably she didn't found out the moment she got pregnant, I was already over 6 weeks along when I found out. 7 moths would be very early, the baby would be in the hospital but have good chances to survive..

It is early, but the doctor's now have alot more information and technology at their disposal. She wouldn't be able to take the baby home straight away, and the baby would prolly be in the NICU for 3-4 weeks until they were strong and healthy enough to take home.
So, it is early, but the baby can survive by that time outside the womb.
