I remember desperately wanting my period to start when I was younger so I wouldn't feel like I was behind everyone else. But seriously... getting your period sucks and once you start you have to deal with it for like 40 years! Don't worry about when it will come because I promise... once you get it you will want it to go away!

Aww baby girl slow down it will come soon. 1st puberty in girls does not start until she has her period. For a boy it starts when he has his 1st ejaculation (wet dream). So actually your not officially in the puberty stage yet. A woman's body has to be about 90-100 lbs before it will start a period because the body knows that's the weight at which she can support pregnancy. So if you have a boyish figure and your kind of on the thin side also if your are athletic (you probably have a lot of muscle weight) the smaller you are the longer it takes for you to get a period. I was bigger for my age I started my period when I was 10! While no one can tell you exactly when you will start it is fact that a period starts when the body reaches a weight that a woman can support a pregnancy. Changes in eating habits is normal and is a sign that your body is beginning to require to more to help with the weight gain necessary to start puberty. Hang in there girl you'll be there before you know it.

Abra-ca-dab-bra! YOU got it!
Anything else in your life work like that?
No one knows, not even a doctor can tell you within exact time of starting.
Lighten UP! What's the hurry? You might be 5th grade or in college, but you will start unless you die first. Chill!
I am DELIGHTED not to have them anymore! I never have to worry about cramps, food cravings, having sex, or having my face break out. It's wonderful.
From the first moment you get your periods-for 40 + years- you will worry about being pregnant, and vacationing while in your period, or whether someone can TELL if you are.
Try concentrating on doing well in school, and figuring what you want to accomplish in life, and not just getting a period or not.
This is not a race. Good luck.

No one on here can tell you what month... or even year you will get your period. I started mine when I was 11. Some start at 12. I knew a girl who didn't get her period until she was 16 years old. Trust me on this, and most women will agree, periods are not fun!! You get blood everywhere, especially if you have irregular periods and don't know when it is gonna start. You have a choice to wear the "diapery" pads or the annoying "cork." There are days you will be so angry for no reason and get annoyed at every little thing, and days where you cramp so bad you'll wanna cry. Hail to the women who don't get all these symptoms, you are so lucky... I get them all.

I understand why you are anxious, but take it from someone who has had their period a long time, you will have it the rest of your life. It is not fun, exciting or anything else. It is just something else to contend with. The best part of it is that one day, it will allow you to have a baby. Don't be in such a hurry. There is no way to tell exactly when you will start, but I would say you are most definitely on your way to womanhood.

you have all the 'symptoms'. i started discharging about a year or two before my period though and have been getting it every day since. there's never a certain answer as to when you'll be getting it. ask your mom when she got hers. chances are you'll get it around the time she did. but dont get too worked up about it. i waited for my period for what seemed like forever, but it's really not that big a deal. everytime i get it i wonder why i ever wanted it. :)
hope this helps. good luck :)

It does sound like it will be soon. I am sorry but I really can't say exactly when! your body fat plays a part in when you will get your period. someone overweight will start at an earlier age. girls who are underweight may not get their period till they are 16. that's only a part of it, though, mostly, its just nature.
don't worry-it will get here soon enough and you will be wishing it would go away!! =0)

Depending on how old you are, you usually get your period anywhere between 11-13 years old. We cant say whether you will get it next month or not but it should be soon if you are in the 8th grade.

we don't have a crystal ball honey, no one can accurately "predict" when your period will come. It sounds like it could be any time. Sry. But no one knows more than that. Don't obsess about it, though, b/c if you're stressing yourself out, you may delay it!
