the answer is letter e. a chemical element. since element by definition is a pure substance that can not be decomposed into simpler materials by ordinary chemical process.

an ingredient and, as an ingredient won't be able to be broken down into greater straightforward components then, NO !, atoms won't be able to be separated from an elemental mass. although, the definition of an atom is: "An Atom is the smallest component to an ingredient which could exist by myself and hold the properties of the ingredient"....Makes you think of, does not it? If the definition is genuine yet atoms won't be able to be separated from one yet another, how do they understand ? Protons, Neutrons and Electrons in my view are actually not classed as components.
