It's not even close >Take the MGM Grand

I can't believe you found MGM for the same rate as the Flamingo.

Unless you're comparing a Deluxe Go room at the Flamingo to a Grand Tower room at MGM -

Thanks to "Rob L" for this site

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years.

The Flamingo is located right in the heart of the strip so that makes it a great location. I have stayed there and love the pool. I have never stayed st the MGM so i cant answer

They are both nice. The MGM Grand is newer, and I think the rooms are nicer. But the Flamingo is also a very nice hotel with cool gardens & pool. It has more old-Vegas style & charm. I would probably pick the Flamingo for that reason.

MGM by far, I was just there last night for dinner at the Rain Forrest......The Flamingo is an older place. The MGM is really neat inside...lots of cool things to see.

Just stayed at the Flamingo a few weeks ago. I wouldn't stay at the Flamingo unless you are getting one of their new room "Go Rooms". That's what I stayed in and I loved it! I heard their regular rooms aren't so great (probably why they are in the process of renovating). Go to TripAdvisor and check out the Candid Traveler Photos to get an idea of the New rooms vs the Old regular rooms. And i wouldn't suggest their Buffet for dinner either. I wasn't please with the selections. But other than that i was happy with the hotel. Easy access to the monorail, centrally located on the strip and i got a great deal on the room. I stayed there for 1 night only on my trip. But they did charge me $100 for incidental fees (web access, etc.). Wasn't too happy about that but it's refunded to you when you check out. Just be prepared for that if you choose the Flamingo.

I haven't had the opportunity yet to stay at MGM but i've never heard anything negative about the hotel. It's never been priced right for me when i visit. I walked through MGM several times during my trip for their food court, monorail access and it's at a great location on the strip. Liked their buffet a lot on previous trips.

Enjoy your Trip

The MGM Grand is a nightmare to navigate through, it is the largest hotel in Las Vegas and one of the largest in the world.

It is always crowded, loud and immensely aggravating to walk though. You must walk through the entire casino to get to your room. The rooms are not great, but are adequate for 1 or 2 nights.

That being said.

The Flamingo is a nicer older property with nice grounds and a few decent restaurants. However, the rooms leave something to be desired.

I would suggest ruling out both properties and check the rates for the Luxor. Ask for a newly renovated tower room on a high floor. The rooms are fantastic and feature huge marble bathrooms and immaculate rooms. You also get spectacular views from this tower.

I have stayed at every 4 Star and above property in Las Vegas over the last few years. There are only a few that I would stay in again. The Four Seasons, Wynn, Luxor and The Hotel at Mandalay Bay.

I would not stay at any of the others due to the fact that there are no separate entrances for the hotel portions, long walks to get to your room, undesirables lurking near hotel elevators and very poor parking situations.

You are best to stay on the South Strip (Luxor, The Hotel, 4Seasons) - As it is more accessible and much safer come nightfall.

while you're in seek of for area then MGM Grand is extra suitable yet as far because of the fact the familiar of the motel then Mandalay Bay wins. they are the two sturdy resorts and could be a exciting time yet once you're finding to hit up the strip lots then i could advise the MGM Grand.
