For brown gravy, after frying meat, pour off most of the grease, turn stove down to medium Now add about two teaspoons of flower, stirring it in slowly until there is no lumps, now add 2 cups milk slowly while stirring until the gravy is as thick as you wont it. For white cream gravy, start with a clean pan. Dissolve flower in a cup, I use 2 rounding teaspoons with water or milk, I make it thick and add milk until it's thin . Add to pan and let it cook a bit, then start adding milk, stirring until it's like you wont it. It doesn't take long, it will thicken very fast. Fryed Pork chops, Cream potatoes, cream gravy and Biscuits. Come and get it!!!

I make good gravy. If it's too liquidy, you blend flower and water and mix it in to make it thicker. If you blend the flour and water properly, it will not be lumpy. The best way to make a tasty gravy is if you use the liquor from a chicken, roast or turkey that you cooked it in. Gives it that flavor. If you are just making a gravy for mashed potatoes or fries, use chicken and/or beef base and boil it and add mixed water and flour for thickening.

Yes, My gravy is wonderful.

I sometimes use a little half and half, the pan drippings
a little drop of brown betty, seasonings and
'chicken stock' from the organs. With onions, celery & carrots that I strain before adding into the pan.

Yes I agree, a cornstarch slurry is better for thickining than flour.

If you arent good with gravy, just use chicken or beef stock from the store with the pan drippings from the meat in the pan and some corn starch to thicken.

I make GREAT gravy, and gray is my favorite food. I consider it an actual food-stuff. Use corn starch instead of flour (no lumps) unless you like it lumpy. I always make extra gravy so I can have the left-overs the next day on toast, YUMMY.
