Yes it is just. They were the first *ranked* Division 1A school to ever lose to a 1AA.

Edit: And now that they've been TROUNCED by Oregon, we see how just it was.

Of course, Michigan can still make the Rose Bowl--all they have to do is finish first in the Big Ten.

But how can anyone argue that right now they are a Top 25 team? They lost to a Division I-AA team. Don't whine about an 0-1 team not being in the Top 25. Your maize and blue have bigger problems!

No 0-1 team should be ranked in the top 25. I have no idea why they put out preseason polls, then feel a need to stick with them, despite what teams do on the field. I guess no one likes to admit they are wrong, not even the voters.

If they win their conference they still go to whatever BCS bowl that is designated for this year.... rank doesn't matter.

but yes it was fair... any top 25 team that gets defeated has always taken a drop like that (in opening week)... heck.. look how far Tennessee dropped when they lost to a team with a HIGHER rank than them... it's the way early season polls work.

Of course they can make it to the Rose Bowl, they could still go undefeated in the Big 10, I doubt that they will, but they can.

Well they dropped out from 5 to 40 because they were of course expected to win by a HUGE amount, they lost to a 1-AA at home, i think they deserve to be where they are

Yes, because there were well over 25 teams that DIDN'T lose to a I-AA team. (And by the way, they aren't #40, they're 32 in the AP and 27 in the Coaches poll)

They lost to a team 90% of the country has never heard of before, and you want them to stay in the top 25. Its like me saying even though ND got thier butts whipped they should be in the top 10.

well you know when you are rated as a good team and lose a game, youre screwed in the BCS...personally i hate the BCS scoring system...there are no chances for rebound and you have to win every game just to have a chance in the bowl and i just cant stand it, i think it ruins the games...i wish we could sign a petition to get this crappy BCS out of here and figure something else out...whats wrong with playoffs? instead of breaking down when you lose one game...its terrible

I think it is just they lost to a division II team and half the teams are undefeated but they will be back in the top 25 before the season is over.
