Personally, I like hair on men, it shows me that they are men. Although, they could trim if its out of control and if they shave, it doesn't hurt either. I guess it really depends on the person. Your friends need help. I know a couple of guys that shaved under their arms and they definately aren't gay. Do what you feel, its your body eh?

Okay, its actually pretty common for this to happen. Gay men liking gay women and vice versa, when they are not 100% gay, which barely anybody is. People fall all across the Kinsey Spectrum, not just cluster on one side or the other. So people that are 90% gay are still "gay" because that 10% means little in terms of behavior. A lot of this phenomenon hinges on the androgyny involved. Psychologically often times, but also physically. Physical androgyny can be a major motivator-- Gay men and women tend to look a bit more like the opposite gender, in terms of tiny almost imperceptible facial indicators. And also little body language and vocal cues. Due to differences in hormones. Your brain registers these differences, but it's not immediately obvious to you. In fact, back when I was questioning, I met a guy at a party, and his orientation never crossed my mind, but I was immediately surprisingly attracted to him (because it's very rare for me to be that attracted to a man) and it turned out later in the conversation that he was gay. This is where that idea of an extrasensory "gaydar" people have comes from. They've done studies, and some people actually CAN have a fair idea just by looking at someone. Also, there is such a thing as a queer straight relationship. It's just that things work a little differently in terms of roles or how time is spent in the bedroom. And sometimes that's all the queer people need, because they are more middling.

Shaving any part of your body is up to you. Just because you want to shave under your arms or anywhere else does not make you gay. It just doesn't work that way.
I trim my bush to a quarter inch, shave the testicles, and also trim the hair under my arms. Have done it for years and it has never bothered my friends. One guy I work with tried doing the same and says he and his wife loves the cleaner look. It all gets down to what you are happy with. Life is too short to worry about what your friends think about your grooming habits.

Hey man, be yourself - if you want to shave your under arms, go ahead and do it, it's your own choice, nobody elses. Honestly, i've never heard that only gay men shave their armpits, i thats just stupid. For example, I always sit with my legs crossed, and If someone were to say to me "it's onlys gays do that", I would give a damn, it would go in one ear and out the other because i know i'm not gay like you know you're not gay for shaving your armpits. As long as you know yourself that your not gay, whose job is it to tell you that you are? - Nobodys! My advice, forget about what everyone else thinks and keep shaving If it's what makes you happy!

Any body who does not wish to have hair under their arms will shave it off, it does mean you are gay, any more than having a bald head means you are gay

Ususally shaving anywhere besides the face is a girl thing. And yeah a lot of gay guys do it too. I wouldn't suggest shaving. Hair on guys is normal. If the underarm hair really bothers you though I would suggest trimming, not completely shaving. Obviously you're not gay, but shaving places other than your face make you look gay.

some straight men shave or wax their body hair. instead, why not try trimming the underarm hair? that will, you won't look like a pre-pubescent little boy, but the hair will be considerably shorter and less bunchy. my hub also hates tons of underarm hair. he just trims his about once a month to keep it short and allow his deodorant to actually get to his skin. don't completely get rid of it. men are meant to have body hair, boys aren't.
btw, i'm a sociology student conducting a survey on sex & relationships at http://geocities.com/sbiv37/ i would love your input.

lol your friends are just messin with you. sure some people don't shave their armpits cause i guess they don't want to and some people do to feel cleaner and hygenic. especially when you sweat you do you know how much sweat and other nasty crap gets into that hair??? i shave mine to and im a guy, so just tell your friends you don't like smelling horrible and they will understand. it doesn't make you less of a man to do it, it feels better to you so its better.
