Well, let's start with not showing much to prove they have evolved from Neanderthal, lack of intelligence and vocabulary to be able to argue or debate a point, and finally, not enough intelligence to agree to disagree. How's that? Pretty accurate if I do say so myself.

i think it stems back to the advent of man, survival of the fittest, leader of the pack, all the usual male macho crap that still goes on every second of every day in our lives. Men had to be the hunters/gatherers, while women were the organisers, cooks, home makers (hence no need to fight!). Men had to exist with and feed on animals, and to slay that animal you had to be strong and fight - bring more men into the equation and you are competing/fighting for the same piece of meat, so again the strongest, healthiest will be the victor. (Except today, men fight over women like a piece of meat instead of fighting FOR the piece of meat to survive, ha ha ha!!!!)

Basically its because all men are closet homosexuals. Fighting gives them an opportunity to get a bit touchy feely with each other, without appearing effeminate.
Take a close look at what goes on in the scrum at a rugby match if you want poof!!! Oops, sorry, I meant proof!!!

I found Jacobs answer very interesting.
I have never been in a fight but if it was neccessary to protect anything in my little bubble, I would fight with all the passion in the world.
But only as a complete last resort or if I am attacked first.

if a bloke cheeks ya, or threatens you in a any way you hit first and hard. i'm one of the most gentlest people you could meet, i'll hold a door open in a shop for everyone behind me to come in. but if a bloke cheeked me especially in work i'll put him in his place. 2 months a go i threw a shovel at another fellas head after he tried to steal my job for the day and i told him where to go and he ignored me. i've also knocked a fella out for putting his head in through my car drivers side when my missus was in the driving seat. i seen that as a personal threat on her. i feel physically sick any time i loose my temper or have to tell somebody to back off. but if i didnt do that i'd be walked over. self preservation is why blokes fight.

1. testosterone makes one agressive. more 'macho' men are, the more likely they are filled with more testosterone.
2. men are raised to be competitive, however there is no line drawn between mental and physical strength in their training. so many men will fight to prove dominance.
3. men have been fighting physically for millenia. it's as genetic as a woman's need to emotionally bond with other women.

Fighting/aggression is a perfectly natural and normal (if demonized) part of masculinity. It often has outlets in modern society through competitive sport, and especially boxing/martial arts and the growing popularity of cage fighting.
It's male instinct.

physical violence is the last resort of incompetence. Guess all those guys fighting out there are incompetent to live a decent life. Gotta kinda pity em.

If they fought alone, they'd be involuntarily committed. Never be seen swinging at the air in a public place. Trust me.
