Starting at about 20 weeks, at each of your prenatal visits, your healthcare practitioner will measure your fundal height — the distance from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus. This measurement allows her to assess your baby's size, growth rate, and position. As a rule of thumb, your fundal height (in centimeters) should roughly equal the number of weeks you're pregnant. For example, at 20 weeks, your fundal height should be about 18 to 22 centimeters.
What does it mean if I'm "measuring large for dates"?
Measuring large for dates means your fundal height is more than 2 centimeters larger than average for your stage of pregnancy, based on your due date. Your practitioner will probably schedule an ultrasound to find out why. Among the possible explanations are:
• Your due date is off. (The ultrasound can help your practitioner figure out your correct due date.)
• You have looser abdominal muscles than most women as a result of an earlier pregnancy.
• You have uterine fibroids.
• You're carrying twins or more.
• You have too much amniotic fluid.
• Your baby is positioned high above your pelvis, which might be the case with a breech baby or if you have a placenta previa.
• You have a bigger-than-normal baby because of gestational diabetes. This condition is known as macrosomia. You may need to be tested to rule it out.
Or you might simply be carrying a big, perfectly healthy baby.
** i was "measuring" 4 weeks ahead with both my boys and sometimes i think it's just how your body is. both were almost 2 weeks late and had to be induced.

If the doctor says the baby is measuring at 32 weeks and you were unsure of the date of your last menstrual cycle, it COULD mean that you are ACTUALLY 32 weeks pregnant and NOT 30 weeks like you thought. If you know for sure when your LMP was, and the doctor said you're measuring a little bigger, it could just mean that you're bigger than the average woman measures at 30 weeks. Depending on the information you already know (like LMP or date of conception) it could mean those two things. If you are concerned that you have gained too much weight or concerned about the baby being too large, mention it to your OB/GYN. I don't think you have anything to worry about! Good luck and congratulations! :)

It means your baby is measuring larger than other babies at the 30 week point. Maybe your doctor was wrong about the time you conceived. They don't know everything. You may get your due date changed because of it. Mine got changed all the time.

My doc said that being +/- 2 weeks is usually normal in pregnancy. It might mean that the baby is measuring a little bit bigger, or it could also mean that your conception date was off a couple weeks. In my case, it meant that I had extra fluid in the amniotic sac (which my doc said was fine). Don't stress about it.
Congrats!

Either your original due date was off or you are simply measuring big due to a big baby or maybe because of the amount or way you are carrying your own baby weight. Either way, it's not too big of a cause for concern as long as the baby and you are healthy. I would not worry about it.

It's nothing to worry about.
It means that your uterus is 1 week bigger than what it's meant to be.
It's nothing to be worried about. My whole pregnancy from 16 weeks I was measuring 1 week ahead.
it's fine my doctor said unless you measure more than 2+ weeks ahead.
The reason you might be measuring big today was because bubs was stretched out.

You have a large kiddo. Or, maybe the calculations of your due date are off.
