The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies
In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson. I don't understand the second part of your question. The most important would be life because without life one's liberty and the pursuit of happiness would not exist. What can a dead person enjoy if they are no longer alive?

This specific phrase is from the fourteenth amendment. It is debatable as to what it exactly means (thats what the supreme court is there for).

Historically speaking it was meant to keep the government (the state government) from taking away these rights without "due process" - again this is a term that has been redefined repeatedly by the Supreme Court.

These rights can be limited by the government if they have a compelling reason - for eg the state of Texas can take away someone's life if they committed a serious crime.

The most important right to defend is argueable, I would say liberty, but of course what is liberty without life or property.

This is an entire class inlaw school so I have just mentioned a few short notes.

I think that the philosopher John Locke first came up with the concept. I think it is a broad statement as to the goals for which government should operate. Liberty is the most profound right to defend because liberty really will automatically cover life and property because free people are free to fight for life and property. Give me liberty or give me death.

regardless of is deemed to be owned by using someone. At one time different halves and slaves have been deemed assets as a results of fact they have been seen owned by using the guy. So that is conscious to such issues as pets, land, money, clothing, possessions, etc.
