Orel Hershiser is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Ken "Hawk" Harrelson for the whitesox is just brutal to listen to. He is the most annoying announcer in baseball. Being loyal to your team, is one thing, but I get sick of his good guys bad guys way of talking. and when a guy strikes out... Ken screams, "HE GONE!" Man that is annoying...
Ken sucks so bad, there is a site to try to get rid of him. http://heavethehawk.com
I think Bob Uecker is the man. He epitomizes what a baseball announcer should be. He loves the sport and is not biased. Even though he works for the Brewers, and he loves his home team, he will give compliments to the visiting team when they make good plays. That shows integrity. Something Ken Harrelson has none of.

Bob Uecker is undoubtedly the best MLB broadcaster. Just watch the movie Major League. I love listening to Brewers baseball with him.

Joe Morgan (I'm a Reds fan) or Keith Hernandez. You never know what is going to come out of Hernandez' mouth next.
EDIT: I almost forgot old Harry Carey. Nothing like watching a Cubs game and ol HK could barely speak by the end of the game.

Tony Kubek was really good. Joe Morgan is, too, although he repeats himself too much. Bob Uecker is good. Jim Palmer was very analytic but a bit dull. There's Tim McCarver, who is so-so. Hometown announcers are pretty bad by the nature of their jobs. I HATE all that rah-rah us silliness. I don't know who is 'best', but the team of Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese was more than entertaining.

HOLY COW>>>>>>> No Harey Carey????.... But as much as it pains me to say as a Yankee fan .... Kieth Hernandez for the Mets is very good.... also I do agree that There some Blowhards out there....allow me to elaborate....Tim McCarver is the worst windbag that thinks its still the 1970s.... Joe Morgan is the biggest Me guy in Broadcasting....And dont even get me started on Joe Buck!!!!!!!

Tim McCarver, Joe Garagiola, Tony Kubeck.
Tim McCarver and Joe Garagiola were both Catchers....although obviously McCarver was much better. He caught perhaps the greatest pitchers of all time....
He caught for Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Jerry Koosman, Steve Carlton...just to name a few.
Tony Kubek, 2nd baseman I believe for the Yankees and Garagiola a Catcher with the Cardinals were really fun to watch and to listen to. Their arguments back and forth during the game are right up there as far as what baseball fans really say and think during baseball games.

Duane Kuiper with the Giatns, he is great at any of the roles they put him, color guy or play by play. He has a great voice, great knowledge and is not over bearing with comments of what he would have done like Joe Morgan or McCarver...both guys that swear they wore a cape while playing!

I love Jerry Remy with NESN. He is quite knowledgeable and very very funny! He and Don Orsillo probably are the best pair out there right now! Of course if you aren't a Red Sox fan you won't agree..lol..

As far as being the most fun to listen to, it's hard to top Bob Uecker. I'd also give a shout-out to Bob Walk of the Pirates - he's not the most exciting to listen to, but there are few out there that analyze the minutae of a game as well as he does.

Jerry Remy does the red sox games on NESN. He teams with Don Orsillo and Tina Servasio. He is the best. On the other hand, Hawk Harrelson of the Chicago white sox is absolutely, positively the worst. (The best of all for a non-player, is the dodgers Vin Scully.)
