I feel ashamed now so many of you would give up things that you would really really miss - So I have decided I ought to give up listening to music :(

I'd give up my Internet access for a week (which I may yet do anyway, so I can whip myself into shape on the art and writing fronts). A million pounds is considerably more than a million dollars, and am I correct in guessing the total is tax-free? (Unlike here in the States, where the IRS makes its move right away!)

like you my main indulgence is the chill-out tv zone. I'd find it a toughy, but for a million I'd certainly give it a go. But what to do with the extra time? There are things I know I would not give up for the million, i.e. my dogs, I'd be lost without them. A luxury that's priceless.

For just one week? Heck I'd give up almost everything or anything. One luxury is nothing..I'd even give up showering in hot water for that amount of money! The dogs wouldn't mind, and my wife would just have to put up with it! LOL!

Like you I'd give up television too, not much of a luxury these days as there is nothing on it worth watching, can I have my million pounds now please.

If it's just for a week I'd give up smoking. I'm not ready to quit but I'd do it for a week for that much money.

My luxury I would give up would be my one and only electric light bulb, which I use at night, not only to see in the dark, but to heat my small one room house.

I would have to wrap up warm in my half roll of toilet tissue on my bed made from half a plank of wood, with 3 rusty nails in, instead of using my lovely light bulb.

Of course, with it being so dark, I wouldn't be able to see my other prize possesion at night, my new toilet, made from a split B&Q bucket.

Whats a television by the way?

If I won that much money the first thing I would buy would be a spare light bulb.
