Yea Don't take the girl, Whiskey Lullaby are great and I tear up every time
I also really get all choke up with the song, Can't think of the title but it goes like this. The parents were fighting, dad killed the mom, dad went to jail the child hid behind the couch with Jesus protecting her. Then she was adopted went to church, Said who is that on the cross I know him but not his name . He was with me when dad killed mom. Very much paraphrased but that is the gist of the song.

Also "Dad He Didn't Have To Be" I was adopted and that was a great song. There are so many more just can't think right now.

Dan Fogelberg's "Leader of the Band"

My father passed away last year from cancer last year. He taught me the love of music and playing the guitar. The song sort of parallels my life.
