Although I don't really like the idea of A-rod being a red sox, upon closer thought, it doesn't sound as bad. here are my reasons for those red sox fans that now think I am crazy:
1. He never helped the yankees in the postseason.
2. Yankees fans don't really like him
3. Lugo is terrible at SS.
4. He is already been nuetered by Varitek, so he won't be anyones buddy like he is with Jeter now. Remember the game with the brawl in 04.

A-Rod would be a good player for the red sox, and they haven't had a good SS since they let Cabrera go in 04. He would be hated more by Yankees fans then then he is now by red sox fans, and he would really help the team. I am sure that Big Papi would be able to teach him a lession in sportsmanship, and they could pull a NE Patriots on him, and make him into a good person. He has a bright future, and as long as it isn't with the yankees, I am fine with it.

my plan would be to resign lowell put him at 3b, get a-rod put him at SS, have Pedroia at 2b, and Youk at 1b. Then, have manny in LF, Coco in CF for the defense at very least, and Elsbury at RF.

That leaves out Lugo and Drew, who the red sox should eat the HUGE salaries, and say goodbye to them, they have been horrible, and no amount of steals will ever make up for their lack of offense. Better off getting rid of them now rather than later.

Hey Me. Ain't gonna happen. You honestly think if A-Rod went to the Red Sox the Yankees would go 86 years without a World Series, the Yankees would never go that long because they ain't the Boston, "Bill Buckner, losing grounder with on out to win a series or the Red Sox who were swept in 4 games their last series before they lost to the Reds. Why would a Red Sox fan want A-Rod if you all say he sucks.

It is possible but I see him going to play for Lou Pinella or to the West coast where the pressure is not as intense. The Giants have a great opening for him and the Dodgers would do anything to have him, the Angels are not going to be big spenders this year for him, they are going to shore up the rotation with the money they have, I see in the NL next year. Boston is not out of the question...pedro was hated in NY until he pulled on the mets jersey! Players today fight one another one season and are teammates and buddies the next year, it is not like the old days when they truely hated each other, in todays baseball they have to have a memory that is short because you may be relying on the guy you fought last week to help you win a title so the Varitek vs A-Rod fight would not be a big deal in free agency.

Id say there is a good shot. The sox will dump alot of salary next year 9mil for Lowell, 13mil for Schill and if they could trade Manny thats 20 mil. They have the money I just dont know if they will pull the trigger. Remember he was almost a Sox.

NO NO NO a rod will never be a red sock the fans their hate him if a rod is smart he'll go into the national league because not as good of pitching so he'll be able to crank some dingers. besides does boston even have the payroll to support his payroll. He'll be looking for a raise from his 25mill so he might ask something like 32 mill. Besides if the giants could sign him i think thats where he'll go because they'll lose their power hitter(bonds).

His self-esteem is too low to expose himself to the Fenway crowd.

He'd crawl into the fetal position the 1st error he made, and the crowd boo-ed him back to the stone-age.

Theo would never risk the integrity of the Red Sox franchise by signing by now, after all he's done as a low-life player with the spankees.

it won't happen, the fight with varitek alone ensures it.

no player who fights with another teams captain is going to be signed to that team, it's as simple as that.

throw in his little girl slap to try and keep arroyo from tagging him out back in 04, and it's another strike against him.

while most red sox fans respect his ability to play the game, they still hate him.

the red sox always strive to have a locker room that gets along with each other, with a-rod that wouldn't happen.

It is like a reverse Ruth then. That would be weird Hope he does go then the Yankees will go 86 with no World Series titles.
