you would have to go right away, and your current job would be guaranteed when you came back. If yes or no, please give reasons.

The last thing I want you to do, is say whether you support our continued presence in iraq.

No. I was opposed to this war before we invaded and there is no amount of money that would lead me to offer my life in a conflict that I believe to be unjust, unwarranted and unnecessary.

I would fight for my country in a just war for free.

Let's see, twice my annual salary for one and a half years of service. So basically I'm picking up an extra half-year salary spread out over a year and a half. That comes out to an extra $1667 a month. Is that worth it? I'd be putting my life on the line for 18 months without a mortgage payment. I might not have any opportunity to spend the money I'm making, but I'd be away from my home and family. The stress, danger, boredom, discomfort, and lost time isn't worth it to me. And before everybody starts blasting me as a greedy coward I've already done my time in uniform. Offer me 2 years salary to do a 6 month tour and I might start thinking about it. I know I sound mercenary, but that's what this war is about: money. I don't think we should be there, and there isn't any argument that can convince me the sacrifice of our troops has been worth the price.

I wouldn't need double, just match it. Why? I would enjoy it. One more patrol.

To corner someone into having to say yes or no to war is not helpful.

Continued presence is also open ended.

The middle east is the jugular vein of the world's economy. The notion that anyone other than the US can protect it is just ridiculous.
We would have been there sooner or later anyway.
Leaving has never been a good idea. Philippines, Panama, Viet Nam.
Staying has a better track record. Germany, Korea, Japan, Italy, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Spain, Netherlands, Diego Garcia.

There is more to life than money but sometimes when we are in a pinch we get desperate.

If you support the war and think what they are doing is for the better of Iraq and making US safe then sure, why not.

I am against the war so no matter how much they offered I would not accept, I would have though if it was in Afghanistan tho.

No I wouldn't. I don't get paid much as it is now. Plus, I'm such chicken sh*t when it comes to violence. I know I'd have a major melt down if I were forced into something like that. The people who volunteer for that are the bravest people in the world and I have the utmost respect for them.

As for still being there, I really don't know. Since we put them in the position they are in now, I think we should help them rebuild. But if there is disagreement on how it should be done, I sure as hell don't know the solution. That is for more informed people to decide, not me.

No. This invasion/occupation of a sovereign country should be an embarrassment to all. I didn't support when it was decided. All my reasons have been realized. It is a sick sad thing to profit from.

No. Money is not a good reason to fight. It's my opinion that the only legitimate reason to fight is to defend yourself.

Besides, if you got killed, what good would the money do you?
